Catherine recently resigned from the board due to work.  However, she is still volunteering with us, doing what she does so well.  We’re happy she continues to support DuBois on Main with her talent!

MEDIA Coordinator, CATHERINE MOORE is a native of West Virginia living on Tank Hill in Fayetteville. She is the Fayette County reporter for the Beckley Register-Herald and runs Beauty Mountain Studio, a media production company focused on work about Appalachia. Catherine was educated and taught at Harvard University (’05), The University of Montana (’08), and Virginia Commonwealth University. Trained as a writer, she began an exciting new chapter as a radio producer for the national public radio program, BackStory with the American History Guys, in 2008. Since moving back to WV, she has produced audio pieces for West Virginia Public Radio, Allegheny Mountain Radio, Appalshop, and others. She has edited numerous literary publications and currently serves as the Media Review Editor for the Journal of Appalachian Studies. Her main interests are local history, labor history, black history, poetry, archival research, West Virginia literature, community empowerment, cool sounds, and having fun on and along country roads with her friend family.
