Yes, it will be here before you know it..so pull out those brand new calendars and fill in a date. Monday, January 20, MLK Day, at 1:00 pm, we will celebrate at the museum by having a meeting about the brand new Community Garden Project! Brad Cochran, WV State U. Agriculture Extension agent will come down from Charleston and teach us about how we can get this new project going and how to sustain it. Yes, we know there have been efforts in the past and we will keep ourselves focused on our goals. One goal is to become the producers of fresh food for ourselves and our community. Additionally, we can be the local “farmer’s market” through our own work and determination to be successful. People from many other organizations have expressed interest in supporting this project. With both young and old working together, we will produce mutually satisfying results. Youngsters will glean knowledge from the experience of older people and provide the needed physical strength for many jobs. Older people will learn new ways of doing things and encourage the youth in their new venture. OK. I jumped ahead a bit there. Just remember, on MLK Day, we will not have a day off, but a day ON. We will be actively “Living the Dream”……
Refreshments after the presentation.
