We are FAMILY!

While visiting my cousin, Rudy, who lives in Scarbro, I told him about the garden sign going up this week and he volunteered to dig the holes.  He showed me the long tool used to soften dirt before using the post hole digger saying it would take little or no time to do.  He said he’d do it on Tuesday.  You see, Rudy is a 3 times a week dialysis patient who drives himself to & from dialysis and is remodeling his kitchen, and adding a deck among other things.  My brother, Bobby, who lived most of his life in Jersey City, NJ,  has turned an old company store shack in Whipple into an amazing living space through his knowledge and creativity.  These two men are in their mid-60’s and work together a lot.  They, along with my retired school teacher brother Dicky from Charleston, just  came up after the rain Tuesday evening, dropped Dee Dee off and got the job done!  Adam was pleasantly surprised when he came up Wednesday evening prepared to do all that work to get the poles set and ready for the sign to go up Fri or Sat.  Proud?  You bet I am!  They are helping out though they don’t live in Mount Hope.  I hear so many people complaining and these men, who have their illnesses also, produce like they are a fraction of their age.  I think our grand daddy must be looking down from heaven with a smile on his face, seeing what his grandchildren are doing…helping others and themselves.

Thanks family…..you got my back!!
