In late 2018, DuBois on Main nominated board member and historian, Hailey Horn, for the position of history hero.   Hailey started working on DuBois High School history a few years earlier while a sophomore at Marshall University.

We completed the application process providing printed evidence of Hailey’s involvement in the process of qualifying the unique history of DuBois High School for a state historical marker and her involvement in the necessary fundraising for it from concept to success!  Much of this happened while Hailey was also seeking employment and working.

We are so proud that the state of West Virginia now will officially recognize Hailey’s work on Thursday, 21 February 2019 by designating her as a 2019 History Hero.
