This March we’re sponsoring a movie showing every Saturday at the DuBois on Main community space. Come out, sit for a bit, and chat about what you just experienced. We’ll try and have a bit to snack on. Please bring your own also. Movie times vary from a little over an hour to under two hours. All shows are free and begin at 12:30 p.m.
March 2 – ECHOES OF DUBOIS – Learning To Live…..Free. 2006 DuBois Alumni Reunion Souvenirs created by Dale Hale & Mariani Didyk of cyberself imagery productions. Come see what the DuBois reunion was like.
March 9 – CABIN IN THE SKY – starring Ethel Waters, Lena Horne, and Eddie “Rochester” Anderson in Hollywood’s second all-black film. Special features include commentary by “Rochester’s” daughter & wife; Black Cultural Scholars; Tom Boyd & Drew Casper; and interview excerpts with Lena Horne. This is a very old, classic movie .
March 16- PIP & ZASTROW – an American friendship. A true story about two men who crossed racial boundaries during segregation in the 40’s and formed a life-long friendship. This friendship kept Annapolis, MD, from the destruction other cities saw after Martin Luther King was assassinated.
March 23 – THREE MO’ TENORS, from the PBS broadcast of the live New York show. An adventure in music…they tore the house down! So many styles: Opera, Broadway, Jazz, Soul, Spiritual and Gospel. Come Experience it! You’ll be laughing, smiling, clapping your hands & enjoying…
March 30 – IMAGINE THAT – An imaginary Dubosonain’s reunion story. Dan just outdid himself with this DVD. We loved it so much he had to make extra copies!
